My First FO - EVER
I was cleaning up the study the other day (well my half anyway as CH's is pretty tidy all the time - I think that says more about workloads than tidiness - so glad you agree as I would hate to think I'm a messy crafter!!) ... and I found my very first FO - a baby jersey knitted in 4th form at high school.
I was quite impressed with the job - all sewn up nicely too! Some sort of baby 4 ply yarn and a basic sweater pattern with a bit of a wing bat arm!
I'm not one to tell tales but I do remember the satisfaction that I had finished this project without mother's help unlike some other pupils .... the moral of the story however is I should have got mother's help because aforementioned other pupil is a way more skilled knitter than I am!
Go Mrs Lazelle's WHS Class of 1993!!! :)

Pcracks me up- I went through a baby obsessed phase in high school textiles. I made an embroidered co sheet set with matching net curtain thingee (pink rosebuds) and a felted change mat. I think mum must have been worried she would be a granny before 50! I like your jersey!
I don't remember you and the little sister knitting at school?
Very nice job, it doesn't look like baby colours have dated much in a long time!
I hope you and CH had a nice Easter and are looking forward to your visitors next weekend!
Jessicah - I think our textiles class was still trying to hark back to the 50s and train us to be good little women as I don't remember having a choice! :)
Freshtea - very excited about our visitors this weekend - loads of tea drinking I suspect!!
hahahaha - I totally cheated, feel very bad too as I one the Textiles and Design prize!! (said in my best Hutt accent). I think all of this knitting for the past few years has just been done to redeem myself. I am impressed with your efforts though. I can't wait for this Saturday, it's going to be soooo much fun!!! I think Mama Bear is starting to get worried about her wee big girl flying the coop....
Oh and totally agree about your comments about the 50s house wife. Remember the smocking!!! And how we had to do it on the revolting gingham, which I totally rebelled against (nice plain calico for me). Fresh Tea you won't remember me doing any knitting back then, cause I didn't. I cheated and handed in something that Mum had knitted for Thomas! Eek! I feel like I am going to get in trouble!
I wasn't going to say anything TTP - but you know the rules, anything you do say can be used in evidence against you. And the Textile Trials began ....
Ha - I do remember the smocking the you both did!
And yes of course I'm worried about my wee big girl flying the coop, for a whole week!
