It's a good planning session that goes into the holiday packing - especially when there is knitting projects to be decided. I headed over to Barrier Island this time with 2 projects. Still focusing on using up my stash I started on the
Cabled Raglan Baby Jumper by Rebecca Daniels in a felted handspun I bought in Wanaka a few years back. I'm about 3/4 through the body and one sleeve to go - and really really like this pattern. It's knitted from the top down, with no seams. Aye - NO seams whatsoever. It's really fabulous knit, and I recommend it.
Another project I took was a moss stitch baby blanket for an imminent birth. I'm using a new Naturally Yarns "Loyal" which is hopefully a good machine washable yarn for the mum-to-be. I'm about 3/4 through and have a couple of weeks up my sleeve to finish it. I'm probably going to crochet or handstitch a nice coloured edge once I know if the bubb is a boy or girl.
The blanket was my mindless project - the cabled jumper was my mindful project!
